Harvest 2013 : Frontier Ruckus

2013 September 29th

Frontier Ruckus is one of those Michigan bands that is deeply foundational to my love of local music, and I think that holds true for a lot of us. Five years of driving across our great state with nothing but The Orion Songbook for company, hours and hours spent digging through YouTube and their website for any piece of media I hadn’t yet absorbed. All that, three full-length albums and some EPs later, and I’m still clamoring at each and every opportunity to see them perform.

This was their first year playing at the Earthwork Harvest Gathering. I was initially a little disappointed that they didn’t have the full band in tow but Fruckus quickly proved that that was no matter. Watch as they play two cuts off their first and second albums, including an intimate, unplugged performance of “Nerves of the Nightmind.”
