Steve Leaf & The Ex Pats song premiere “On the Air”
Steve Leaf & The Ex Pats have been conducting a high-speed train circling Lake Michigan for the past few years. They keep throwing load after load of coal to the engine, effectively consuming those that dare approach the tracks.
Their upcoming release Come Clean brings us a handful of songs that carry a steady pace and place themselves amongst the best of The Ex Pats’ catalog of rock’n’roll. If I were to guess, I’d say everyone in the band has (somehow) been listening to more 80s and early 90s music than usual—and the songs are better for it. Come Clean doesn’t take any serious risks, because it doesn’t need to. It knows exactly where it’s going and how it’s going to get there—are you ready for the ride?
Take a listen to the opening track “On the Air” that sets a bitter, sharp cadence for the polished songwriting and musicianship that’s contained on the album.
Pre-order the vinyl from Earthwork Music.
